Statement

I paint in acrylics on canvas trying to engage the viewer through my use of colour and subject. I try to react to the landscape in which I live, using a dynamic and colourful interpretation of what I see and feel.

I use paint for its versatility, ease of use and spontaneity of colour. I choose my subjects because they engage me on some level and provide a variety of ways to express myself.

My current work has become more abstract as a result of my studies at Plymouth College of Art and Design. The realisation that colour and energy are important factors in conveying my creative energy has also become important.

I am also drawn to the human body as a subject for drawing and sculpting. I like to use ink and charcoal to capture the glory that is the human form.
